Take a look around: women already do rule the world. They don't do it completely because some of them are too weak and break ranks. ;)

But 2 or 3 thousand years ago, Europe lived in a matriarchal society; and this all came to an end with the birth of the "modern" religions. It was just a power swing from woman to man.
