Não sei porquê mas fico sempre com a sensação que se uma banda dá o nome de uma musica a um album, é porque é a musica de que mais gostam/mais têm orgulho. E neste caso, acho que deverá ser mesmo orgulho!

Excelente musica (na minha opinião a melhor do album). É daquelas musicas que parece estar sempre a crescer ao ponto de chegar ao fim e de nos atirar uma massa de som cheio que nos faz vibrar e não nos deixa indiferentes!

Musicas destas há poucas ;) Aproveitem!

Getting Things Done - David Allen

My new job implies having a lot of different tasks being processed and a million more floating around and just waiting to happen and disrupt any kind of system I've been trying to setup. I was feeling kind of overwhelmed but decided that the problem was the system I was using and not anything particular about the job itself.

My old job in development was less prone to emergency handling, as the work flow was linear most of the time and urgency was not that much of an issue, as the client was still very far away from our actual work. Nowadays, my job has what I can describe as a state of "everlasting priority change". But in the end, things still need to get done.
I tried a priority system: I defined tasks, assigned priorities, and then dealt with the list from top to bottom. The problem started when I began defining tasks as "urgent", "urgenter", "urgentererer".

Solution: instead of re-inventing the wheel, check out the GTD book by David Allen that I had heard so much about.

I can't explain the book on a single post, but the basic idea about the book is: "If you have "stuff" you need to do on your mind, you won't work efficiently... so create a pipeline for that "stuff" that'll make you process them effortlessly." It doesn't make the work easier, it simply makes you feel in control of what you are doing.

I've been giving it a go for a week, and it has been working for me. Some discipline is required, but if you feel you need to read this book, you are probably committed enough to make it work. If in 3 months time it has proven to be a success, I'll post the "infrastructure" I used to get it going (SW and HW used).

I recommend this book for people that are getting the "overwhelmed" feeling at work or in their lives. When too much is happening, having a clear process on how to deal with it and how to go about getting it completed is a great stress reliever :)

My desk @ home

Cada vez trabalho mais a partir de casa. Como tal, senti a necessidade de melhorar o meu ambiente de trabalho. Acho errado assumir-se que "trabalhar a partir de casa é a partir do sofá o mais estendido possível". Na minha opinião, ter boas condições é meio caminho andado para aliviar bastante stress e obter melhores resultados.

Comecei com uma mesa bem espaçosa. Seguiu-se a necessidade de ter um ambiente de trabalho com dual-monitor e por isso adquiri um monitor dos grandinhos ;) (já cheguei a ter que controlar 4 remote desktops + o meu pc durante uma noite de trabalho)(e não não é um luxo mas sim um alívio de 1000001 Alt-Tabs a trocar entre eles).

O cenário acaba por ser o da fotografia acima. Apesar de tudo o que está na mesa, continuo a ter espaço para escrever numa folha de papel ;P.

A Bela e o Paparazzo

Honestamente, tenho visto comédias românticas dos EUA bem piores que esta. Primeiro, e apesar de todos os clichets, o filme até funciona bastante bem. Segundo, não se foca só no casal... e o Nuno Markl é grande :D Terceiro, há algumas piadas de repetição que funcionam muito bem.
Não será a obra prima do século, mas acho que é um passo em frente para o cinema português. Vale a pena os 5€ e o apoio ao cinema tuga :)

Year One

It isn't that funny, but some parts are really hilarious. It's not a must see, but way better than Nacho Libre (the last comedy I regrettably saw with Jack Black).
The part when they meet Abel and Caim is very funny. And the Hebrews that decide to start cutting foreskins are pretty cool too. But it's just a lot of biblical comedy.

Sometimes classic rock is just the best. I'll never respect these guys because they blatantly copy Led Zepellin, but I'll still listen to them :P

Billy Talent - 22/01/2010 Coliseu dos Recreios

Bilhetes à pala, não há motivo para não ir. O concerto não foi mau, apesar de não ser nada o meu tipo de som. E se o vocalista consegue disfarçar o timbre irritante nos albums, ao vivo é outra conversa!
Nota positiva para o guitarrista, que podia estar a tocar coisas bem diferentes! E kudos pelo look Johnny Bravo indiano!
Tiveram umas duas centenas de fãs dedicados que ajudaram o espectáculo. E prometeram que voltam... eu já não prometo a mesma coisa! :P

Lie To Me

When you spend 5 days @ home ill, you watch everything you have on your laptop. I had downloaded the first season of Lie to Me, just for curiosity. Loved it: the characthers, the idea behind it, the stories. It's a 13 episode season, so the filler episodes were left out. Recommend it.
I'm biased because I was already a Tim Roth fan, but I recommend this series.
