It's a different romcom: what if everyone in the world always told the truth except this one simple guy. It doesn't have that American clown rodeo mambo jambo of "uuh I have a power now, I'll abuse it".
You actually connect with Ricky's character. And it also shows you how the purest of truths can be extremely cruel.
A lot of great comedy actors in this one. If I had to define it in a genre, I'd say it's a "romcom with Gervaiseness".
Not a masterpiece, but still a thumbs up :D
